Limestone is a sedimentary rock, composed mainly of calcium carbonate.  Most have a granular texture often containing tiny fragments of plant and animal fossils.  Limestone is softer than marble and granite and will undergo wear gracefully with the passing years.  Only a few limestones polish well e.g. Molianos, Supina and Atlantic Blue, so it is mostly supplied honed.  It is available in a range of natural colours and is ideal for flooring, walls, vanity tops and bath surrounds.
